Morzine Swimming Pool
Because indoor activities are just as important as skiing when it’s cold outside! A large indoor swimming pool, with paddling pool for young children. There is also a sauna and hammam on site. Perfect for a quick dip after skiing, or easing tired muscles in the spa while kids enjoy the pool.
Aquariaz in Avoriaz
An aquatic paradise in the mountains featuring lush vegetation and rocks, a river with a variable current, a slidewinder (a kind of aquatic halfpipe), a water playhouse, a paddling pool, a large pool with climbing walls, massage benches and the must-try: an open-air spa heated to 34 degrees! This water park is one of a kind, with no others in the mountains and is an incredible experience. Immerse yourself in natural tropical vegetation in mountain surroundings. A saviour on bad weather days and when kids need something different to do.
Spas
Sometimes skiing can take a toll on your body. Luckily there are plenty of spas around to ease aching muscles. You’ll find a sauna and hammam in the main Morzine pool and several hotels have spas that non guests can use. Les Gets has the Sources du Chery spa with a range of treatments and massages.
There are even some mobile massage services we can recommend who’ll come to your chalet to massage you, so there’s no schlepping back home after.
Treat yourself, you deserve it…
Bowling & Cinema
Les Gets has a bowling alley on rue du centre. Perfect for warming up when it’s chilly outside.
Both Morzine and Les Gets have cinemas with a range of films on. There is increased programming in bad weather to make sure little ones getting too cold to go out skiing can stay occupied.
Eating and drinking
Definitely an important holiday activity in our book! Make use of Jo’s local knowledge to ensure you sample some of the local delicacies in the best restaurants. There are some incredible places to eat, both on the slopes and in the villages. If it’s a steaming fondue, meaty pierrade or more modern gastro pub fare, you’ll find some delectable gastronomy in the Portes du Soleil.
