Morzine is a beautiful, traditional Savoyard village perfectly situated in the middle of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area. A large network of free buses can get you to the ski slopes in every direction so it’s the best choice if you want easy access to Avoriaz, Chatel and the full 650km of ski pistes in the Portes du Soleil.
You’ll find gorgeous old stone buildings, charming wooden chalets, pistes that wind their way through trees down to the village. Finish your day skiing down Pleney straight into the one of the lively après-ski bars nestled at the foot of the slopes. There’s a wide choice of restaurants if you fancy a night out, as well as some late night bars and a nightclub.
If anyone in your group is not skiing there’s still plenty to do: choose from an indoor pool and spa, the weekly market, a walk around picturesque lac Montriond, visiting the local cheesemaker, watching an ice hockey game, or join a guided snowshoe outing.
Further afield are Annecy, Chamonix and Geneva – all located within one and half hours drive from Morzine.
