Once again Morzine is hosting the Spartan Race this summer, and for the first time the European Spartan Championships! Taking place over the weekend of the 7-8th July 2018, the Spartan Race is an endurance event combining distance running and obstacles. There are 3 different events to choose from:
The Sprint – set over 3 miles and over 20 obstacles
The Super – spanning over 8 miles and 25+ obstacles
The Beast – a 12+ mile circuit and over 30 obstacles
If you complete all three events, you become part of the coveted Trifecta Tribe! There is also a kids event, which is great fun for all ages and is around 1 mile along the Dereches and includes rope climbs, crawl nets and lots of mud!
It is a great spectator event also as a lot of the obstacles are located throughout the town centre and along the Dereches. The programme for the weekend is as follows:

8:20 – 9:00 Start European Championship Age Groups
9.15am Trifecta Racer Heat
9.30am – 2:00pm Open Heat Beast

9.15am Trifecta Racer Heat
10:00am – 12.15pm Open Heat Super
12:15pm Last Start Super
1.00pm – 4:00pm Open Heat Sprint
3.15pm Trifecta Race Heat
4:00pm Last Start Sprint
